¶ ❔ Who am I?
Hey, I’m Sameul! 👋 I’m an Explorer Scout in the UK, and I created this website to bring everything together for young people who want to achieve top awards in Scouting and DofE and to help others push themselves to achieve amazing things.
I’ve been through the process myself, completing most Scouting youth awards, pushing through challenges, and figuring out the best ways to succeed. Now, I want to share my experiences, tips, and insights to help others do the same. Not only is it not easy, but reaching the right people was a challenge in itself.
I'd love to see others complete these youth awards because they're truly unforgettable. I learned a lot and made memories, and I would love to see others do the same. Joining the Scouts has been one of my best decisions, helping me to build my independence, skill building and sense of belonging. Then there's the great fun you get to have. Enjoy and make the most of these things, you won't get another chance when you're older! You'll hate yourself now; love yourself for doing them afterwards!
¶ 📖 What are your hobbies?
I love doing different things; here's a small list of what I get up to:
- 📷 Photography (I do film and digital photography, and I shoot with a Canon 70D. I love capturing moments, and film photography gives a unique, timeless feel.)
- 🛶 Stand Up Paddleboarding (I've fallen in too many times, so why not? Falling into the water is part of the fun in paddleboarding!)
- 📘 Reading (I read a book once a month, I enjoy it. I like to read a range of topics, mainly tech-focused ones)

¶ 📢 Why did I create this website?
While working towards my top awards, I realised that good, straightforward information was hard to find. Many young people don’t know where to start, and some don’t get enough support from their district or county.
💡 This website exists to help you:
- ✅ Understand the requirements for each award.
- ✅ Find practical tips that make the process easier.
- ✅ Learn from real experiences, not just assumptions.
- ✅ Take control of your own journey, even if local support is limited.
This isn’t an official Scouting or DofE website; it’s my personal insight as someone who has been through it all, making it easier for the next person and future participants. Please take everything I say with a hint of salt. I might not be correct, but I try my best.
